Residence on the Golf Course, Boulder, Colorado
The clients requested a two-story entry for this 8800 SF house that sits near the first fairway at the Boulder Country Club. Windows in the elevator provide views and natural light. Clear vertical cedar siding and smooth stucco with rectangular joints are juxtaposed to create a balanced and unique composition. A 35KW solar system provides 100% of the annual energy needs.
By suspending the upper floor rooms and bridges from beams in the roof, the main floor remains open without vertical columns.
A custom mahogany staircase connects the three floors.
